ERA Landmark Real Estate’s own Mikaela Durham was recently featured on the Calibrate Real Estate Podcast hosted by Kyle Malnati, broker/owner of Calibrate Real Estate in Denver, Colorado.

The Calibrate Real Estate Podcast has a simple goal: educate, empower, and encourage. Kyle interviews prestigious members of the real estate community at a national level to showcase their most coveted advice and best practices of the industry.

Mikaela began by talking about her journey as a REALTOR® and how she found her stride in the competitive Bozeman market. She mentioned leaning on the experience of seasoned ERA Landmark associates who helped show her how to leverage the skills that she already possessed to increase her business.

Durham went on to note that YPN (Young Professionals Network) involvement has given her access to resources from agents in other markets in addition to unique educational experiences. She also noted how she has been able to gain agent referrals from YPN relationships.

Interviewer Kyle Malnati asked about life lessons and tools for success that Mikaela gained from her childhood upbringing in a competitive environment with a father who is a college basketball coach. Mikaela learned that mistakes are bound to happen and that success is all about how quickly you rebound. Developing a “PMA”, positive mental attitude, towards life’s challenges is crucial. The resilience she learned from a young age has served her well as she has transitioned into a career in real estate.

Mikaela concludes by stating that there are many ways to be successful in the real estate industry and that a person doesn’t have to do what other people are doing to further their business. Figuring out what feels right and using that approach is the hallmark of a successful real estate agent.
