Montana 4-H: A World of Opportunity
Montana 4-H is the largest out-of-school youth development program in the state that empowers young people to learn, grow, and lead. It's an amazing program offered through Montana State University Extension and is a thriving program reaching nearly 14,000 youth each year. Through hands-on projects and activities, Montana 4-H members explore their interests in areas such as agriculture, science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics. By developing important life skills like problem-solving, communication, and teamwork, 4-H helps young people become responsible citizens and future leaders.
4-H Makes a Difference
According to a recent needs assessment, developing strong life skills and career readiness are top priorities for Montanans. 4-H directly addresses these needs by providing opportunities for youth to:
- Gain valuable hands-on experience
- Develop public speaking and communication skills
- Learn about teamwork and responsibility
- Build self-confidence and leadership skills

For younger Montanans (ages 5-8), many counties offer a special Cloverbuds program that introduces them to the world of 4-H in a fun and age-appropriate way.
Adult Volunteers Needed
Montana 4-H is also seeking passionate adults to volunteer their time and expertise. Volunteers play a vital role in guiding youth, helping them with projects, and creating a safe and supportive environment.
