Proposed Development: Bozeman Yards Project
Posted on December 6, 2024Developers are introducing a new project to Bozeman's northeast neighborhood: a five-story, mixed-use building that will bring both residential and commercial spaces to the area.
The Bozeman Yards Project
The proposed Bozeman Yards project will span 107,000 square feet and include a mix of one-, two-, and three-bedroom units, all available for purchase. An underground garage will provide 41 parking spaces.
Developer Scott Baldasare has emphasized the project's commitment to "design forward" principles, aiming to create a visually appealing building that seamlessly integrates with the neighborhood's character. The team plans to incorporate local materials into the design to foster a strong connection to the community.
Community Impact and Affordable Housing
The developers are taking steps to address the community's housing needs by proposing two affordable housing units within the project. These units will be restricted to individuals earning no more than 120% of the area's median income. In exchange for providing these units, the developers are seeking a height bonus, allowing them to build an additional 10 feet higher than the standard limit.
The project's potential impact extends beyond the building itself. By upgrading public infrastructure in the area, including utilities and street surfaces, the developers aim to enhance the overall neighborhood. This investment could benefit future development and improve connectivity and walkability for residents.
Community Input and Future Steps
The project is currently open for public comment until December 13th. After this period, the community development director will make a final decision on the plans.
